The Opportunity

Consor is currently looking for a Senior Utilty Design Engineer  for our Utilities group in our Austin, TX office. This position requires thorough knowledge of Utility coordination and design and engineering techniques. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to unique problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review project design 
  • Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
  • Assist with project management and scheduling 
  • Prepare reports 
  • Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects 
  • Observe construction and coordinate with contractors
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines such as roadway, geotechnical, structures, etc.
  • Handle routine contract administration

Required Credentials

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • P.E. license
  • Natural leader willing to champion a team of engineers and technicians
  • 7 years Utilities Engineering work-related experience
