What are the responsibilities and job description for the UAS Pilot position at Constellis?
POSITION SUMMARY
The UAS Pilot shall be responsible for piloting and demonstrating sUAS capabilities utilizing and integrating the ATAK system to U.S. Military personnel. The UAS Pilot will operate as the main Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) to conduct safe and compliant operations in accordance with 14 CFR Part 107 with Academi in a temporary position lasting approximately 2 (two) weeks from April 7th to April 16th. The UAS Pilot will operate and demonstrate proper UAS flight protocols, conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks, discuss and educate personnel on the UAS platform and ATAK integration capabilities, and deliver superior flight demonstrations for U.S. Military Personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform pre-flight checklists and participate in mission briefings
- Review airspace requirements and operate systems safely within requirements of applicable flight regulations as required by the OEM, Military, unit and specific location requirements
- Operate UAS and monitor UAS "health" systems; respond to emergency procedures as required
- Operate various sensor systems as required by the mission
- Participate in post mission debriefing; complete appropriate forms and prepare for following operations
- Utilize checklist and appropriate operations manuals to operate the UAV safely
- Deliver a period of instruction and/or education to personnel on sUAS and ATAK operation for the VTOL Tech platform
- Assist with maintenance of the UAS platform
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience as a UAS operator
- Willingness to Travel CONUS
- Must have recent experience with ATAK as it pertains to UAS and flight operations
- Must have current FAA Part 107 Certification
- Must have recent and familiarity with Small UAS operations including:
- Setting flight safety parameters
- Flight waypoints
- EO/IR camera systems
- Geo Fencing
- Basic troubleshooting
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer literacy
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work will be indoor and outdoor with time spent creating mission files and appropriate maps using prescribed software as well as outdoors flying various UAS missions for demonstration and or live missions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
