About Project Caerus:
The goal for Project Caerus is to identify and execute projects focused upon providing the Constellium Muscle Shoals facility the ability to increase throughput over the next 5-7 years. The focus will primarily be to execute projects towards Recycling, Casting, Hot Mill, Cold Mill and infrastructure improvements. Project Caerus will be executed in a series of phases, with critical foundational projects and phase one beginning in 2022.
Primary Purpose
The Financial Analyst II will be a shared resource between the Finance team and the Project Caerus team. With regard to Caerus, duties will include maintaining and tracking costs in relation to project scope, budget, and cost forecasting. The successful candidate will be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment with all levels of our organization, international team members, and external auditors.
General Key Accountabilities
- Establish Project Caerus cost status by developing and implementing processes for analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information.
- Analyzes/reports information regarding project costs compared to budget/forecast
- Performs a variety of professional duties related to financial planning and analysis
- Serves as link between Caerus team and Finance team and will support the forecast/budget/LTP process for Caerus as well as integrating Caerus activities with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting timetables
- In addition, the Financial Analyst II will perform a variety of professional duties related to financial planning and analysis including serving as finance business partner for one or more APU’s, analyzing and reporting on cost savings initiatives, identifying reporting issues and suggesting improvements, maintaining internal controls, as well as other duties as needed.
Specific Key Accountabilities
Caerus:
- Review and consolidate project data so as to ensure that a project’s transactional record is maintained in an accurate and current manner and that all spending and returns are adequately supported with appropriate documentation on a timely basis.
- Assist project management with preparation of the forecast of anticipated costs, resources and results as well as explanations of variances to forecasts, budgets, etc.
- Monitor and control the project's cost and forecast against budget, including direct and indirect cost
General:
- Ensures linkage between Caerus reporting and financial reporting to local management, BU and Group.
- Assists with monthly cost forecasting, annual budgets and long-term planning and analysis of variances.
- Works closely with APU management to track and control costs
- Works on cross-functional teams to support cost savings projects as well as capital project justification.
- Prepares reports to support management requests.
- Interacts with internal and external auditors as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Leadership competencies, technical skills requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control for special manufacturing projects
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software with strong focus in Excel; experience with SAP or similar ERP system in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) helpful.
- Demonstrates results orientation, accountability, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, project and change management and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Effective written and oral communication skills sufficient to communicate with all levels of the organization, high level of autonomy with ability to work collaboratively and good interpersonal skills
- Able to perform, understand and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation,
- Ability to work in cross-organizational and multi-functional teams in a global matrix organization with manufacturing operations and an international mindset
