What You Will Do
The Director of Content Acquisition is responsible for the entirety of ConstructConnect’s content assets acquired from either private or public sources. As the senior leader and expert, you lead the continued development of CC’s content, acquisition, and curation strategies to support our multiple product platforms. You are an expert in discovering and accessing digital resources to identify and curate relevant information associated with commercial construction for current and future roadmaps. You will advocate for and enable the discoverability and access to our internal and externally curated content You will consult to team members, stakeholders and internal/external customers on the availability and relevance of our content, working closely with the EVP, Information and Data Ops, ECM’s, ECL’s, Training Manager, and other Directors within Content.
Your Day to Day Essential Duties
- Lead and collaborate the development of ConstructConnect’s (CC) content acquisition, curation and data management strategy for teams focusing on either private or public sources and pre-construction information related to commercial construction.
- Planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all business activities related to pre-construction and privately or publicly funded commercial construction, ensuring they meet the organization’s goals, objectives, and regulations.
- Monitoring performance and progress for all projects and activities.
- Developing, implementing, and updating procedures and policies.
- Overseeing the organization’s team members, including the training, management, and evaluation of employees.
- Liaising with employees, external companies, partners, and other third parties, representing the organization or delegating representatives to act on their behalf.
- Solve content discovery and gathering initiative.
- Develop, track and report metrics and KPIs to evaluate success.
- Proactively anticipate, discover and curate content from multiple internal and external sources in line with our product roadmaps and future needs.
- Identifies and works with relevant content sources internally such as our Data Quality and Production Teams, and externally such as vendors and partners to acquire and curate content.
- Develop, execute and continuously improve all processes related to content discovery, curation, standardization, storage and retrieval.
- Develop and enforce standards for content quality.
- Ensure that the discovery, access and delivery of content meets internal and external customer needs.
- Use analytics and research to ensure content quality.
- Educate users on our content management system.
- Stay on top of the latest technologies and practices in this area.

What You Bring to the Team
- 10 years in knowledge management, information architecture or content management and curation.
- Ability to manage a remote workforce and management team, setting clear expectations and incorporating technology into your communication strategy to build community.
- Proven expertise in information architecture, taxonomy development and metadata strategies and standards.
- Expert knowledge of standards, procedures and practices used for information and content lifecycle management.
- Extensive experience with digital asset and learning content management processes, systems and platforms.
- Demonstrates user centricity in designing and developing content management and access strategies.
- Excellent content discovery and acquisition skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Demonstrated organizational planning, problem-solving, and influencing skills at all levels and across functions.
- Experience with learning content design and development.
- Well organized and highly structured, with attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to work with colleagues in collaborative, Agile and team environments, as well as independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the working day
