What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Reporter position at Construction Association of Michigan?
The Construction Association of Michigan seeks a full-time Construction Reporter. This individual will be responsible for finding and publishing timely, accurate information about construction projects and real estate developments in the planning stages throughout Michigan and surrounding areas.
Daily tasks include researching projects, contacting design firms and developers, attending industry events, then reporting the relevant details to a subscriber-based website. Occasionally, additional writing duties such as editorial contributions to CAM Magazine, event coverage or blog posts will be assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism or related field, or equivalent job experience in journalism, business development, public relations, or marketing for the construction industry. Applicants must be computer literate and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Background in investigative journalism covering real estate development or business acquisitions and mergers preferred.
