Purchasing Agent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and possess excellent negotiation skills.

Duties:
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Source and procure materials, supplies, and equipment needed for operations
- Review purchase requisitions and create purchase orders
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to ensure favorable terms for the company
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the inventory control team to optimize stock levels
- Coordinate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, systems, and best practices
- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of logistics processes is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
