Survey Crew Chief
Description:
The Crew Chief will be responsible for leadership of the Survey field crew, ensuring the following:
· The accuracy, thoroughness, & timeliness in the completion of various land surveying projects.
· The completion of thorough legible notes and sketches pertinent to projects.
· The daily coordination with various personnel including the submission of current field data.
· The work crew works in compliance with all regulatory safety standards, company policies, and various site-specific job requirements.
· The safe operation of all company equipment and vehicles used on projects.
· The timely completion and submission of all various equipment and vehicle logs used for both billing and maintenance.
· The continual training of all crew members to help their positional progression.
· The organization of various public records research as relating to property documentation, and the ability to identify property location in the field.
At times the Crew Chief will also be responsible for coordination with a client’s various field representatives.
Some overnight travel will be required.
Skills:
A competent knowledge of land surveying practices for control networking, topographic surveying, planimetric surveying, and site layout utilizing:
· Traditional total station
· Robotic total station
· GPS utilizing a VRS network
· GPS utilizing a localized base & rover
· Automatic differential level
· Digital differential level
· Data collectors using Survey Pro software
· Data collectors using Trimble Survey Controller software
Ability to perform necessary field checks to ensure adherence to minimum standards.
Ability to calculate points in the field for both boundary and layout as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
· Candidate should have 2-4 years of progressive experience in land surveying field operations.
· Candidate should have a least 1 year of experience as a survey crew chief.
· Ability to maintain project confidentiality.
· Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License and have an acceptable drivers record to meet insurance requirements.
· Candidate must be able to pass all substance testing as required by various clients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $28.00 per hour
