What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA/QC Manager position at Constructiv?

As we extend services with existing and new clients the need has arisen for qualified, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Managers. We are seeking excellent candidates that we believe would be a great addition to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues
  • Monitor all operations that affect quality
  • Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians, contractors, vendors and other staff
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of construction by checking processes and final output
  • Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied
  • Report all identified quality issues to project executives to ensure immediate action
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
  • Review current standards and policies
  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
  • Ensure all legal standards are met
  • Communicate with internal/external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections
  • Professionally, accurately, effectively, efficiently and concisely communicate both in written and oral fashion in all facets of business both corporately and to contractors/vendors without error
  • Be responsible for providing project leadership, coordination and facilitating teamwork of project teams to meet project goals
  • Communicates project status to supervisor and others
  • Develops staffing projection and trend/exposure reports
  • Assures performance of project personnel meets Client needs and expectations
  • Attends monthly managers meeting and participate on project-status calls
  • Ability to accurately produce the minutes of all meetings and all other written documentation required
  • Review contractor documentation including drawings, calculations, correspondence, insurance, bonds, submittal data, clarification requests, and close-out documentation
  • Collaborates with Project Managers / Project Designers in an ongoing effort to improve department processes and standards
  • Provides quality control by monitoring construction process
  • Interface and maintain a positive relationship with owners, architects, client staff and vendors
  • Oversees internal team, contractor and vendor performance during construction phase through site visits and report review
  • Conduct site visits as needed to monitor the progress of construction, review status of work completed during the period covered, review that work is progressing forward and in general accordance with the approved drawings and specifications
  • Must be organized and display effective time management skills
  • Review construction plans and specifications
  • Inspect construction progress
  • Chair and conduct design progress and coordination meetings, preparing agendas, coordinating presentation material and preparing meeting minutes for same
  • Manage validation of record documents and post-occupancy evaluations
  • Manage team of multiple PM’s/projects through initiation to completion.

Minimal Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in managing design and construction of technical project
  • 10 years’ experience managing multiple projects
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to manage a team and personal dynamics to drive projects forward.
  • Ability to coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and managers for project resources.
  • Fundamental knowledge and technical requirements from relevant functional area.
  • Ability to lead project meetings to facilitate project progression.
  • Proficient with Windows-based platform, computer skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Experience applying analytical and problem-solving skills to routine and moderately complex problems.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Desire to raise standards of excellence in construction.
  • Strong familiarity with construction and electrical codes, and plan reading capabilities.
  • Strong budget and change management capabilities.
  • Accountable for adherence to projects of all Project Management policies, process, procedures, tools, and client compliance guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient with Procore Project Management Software is preferred.

Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)

Education:

BS degree in engineering, construction management

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Occasionally, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel up to 50% or more.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
