Accounting Manager

Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller to join our client in Philadelphia, PA! The Accounting Manager/Controller will report directly to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing the financial close process, analyzing business operations, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This Direct-Hire opportunity is starting at $ 90,000 with an annual bonus!

Key Responsibilities

• :Lead the monthly financial close process, including posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and preparing variance reports
• .Provide detailed monthly reports on variances from the budget or plan, offering insights and recommendations for improvement
• .Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) by product line and order level to ensure accurate costing
• .Prepare monthly profitability reviews by customer, identifying trends and areas for optimization
• .Oversee customer cash activity, maintain Accounts Receivable aging, and manage the bad debt reserve schedule
• .Post payroll entries, manage payroll accruals, and maintain vacation accruals in collaboration with ADP
• .Track and report on dealer sales and associated programs, ensuring accurate accounting
• .Maintain the sales commission schedule and related accruals
• .Oversee the maintenance of fixed asset schedules, including posting depreciation
• .Handle periodic sales & use tax and excise tax filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

• :Accounts Payable processing, including invoice matching and verification
• .Customer invoicing, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with purchase orders
• .Payroll processing for 60 employees and 20 temporary staff, managing timecards, vacations, and PTO

Qualification

• s:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experienc
• e.Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience, with the ability to quickly adapt and take on tasks independentl
• y.Proficient in Excel, including the use of formulas, V-lookups, and pivot tables. Candidates will be required to complete two assessments prior to an in-person intervie
• w.Experience with QuickBooks Online or other accounting software is preferre
