Cyber Security Engineer

As part of the Tech Operations team, the Cyber Security Engineer will focus on the technology side of change, including changes to system processes, infrastructure/application systems and technologies, with an emphasis on compliance and security awareness programs. This position will play a key role in supporting our existing hybrid on-premises and cloud (AWS) platform, as well as providing strategic and tactical guidance as we continue to develop our cloud capabilities. Essential Functions:

• Maintain documentation (Runbooks, How To, SOPs, etc) and seek opportunities within the department to improve operational awareness and efficiencies.
• Participate in audits & security reviews, providing required IT documentation and/or information.
• Develop short and long-term goals, KPIs, objectives, and execute operational security initiatives.
• Ensure the efficient operations of critical security products within the environment such as data classification tools, SIEM solutions, Security Awareness & Phishing, DLP, Anti-Virus, and WAF products.
• Maintain existing documentation of procedures, operations and be an integral part of continually improving SOC by effective process/documentation enforcement.
• Lead and implement security change initiatives related to business processes and technologies.
• Drive adoption and proficiency of changes within the organization in accordance with Change Management methodologies as well as industry security and compliance procedures.
• Oversee team execution in accordance with project plans, tools, and methods, and support resource planning and acquisition.
• The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring information security standards are upheld and enforced.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science or related degree is preferred.
• 5 years of experience in managing WAF (Web-Application Firewall) solution.
• Ability to design, implement and maintain EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response), MDR (Managed Detection & Response) solutions and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) programs.
• Ability to manage and clearly communicate team priorities.
• Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications.
• Security certifications from leading vendors such as CompTIA Sec , CISSP, CISM, CEH, CISA, CCSP, OSCP or SSCP are preferred.
• The position requires minimal travel. Occasional travel requirements may be subject to overnight depending on the company needs.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, in addition to effective customer interaction skills
• Familiarity with threat hunting and overseeing vulnerability management programs.
• Knowledge of Logical Access Controls and Least Privilege reviews
• Strong knowledge in NIST Risk Management Framework, PCI Guidelines and CIS Benchmarks
• Ability to work well under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
