Brief Position Description:
As a core member of Infinity & Ovation Yachts, the Charter Specialist is responsible for providing a positive and energetic sales experience to customers through an established sales process. Day to day can look like following up on client inquiries, touring the venue, conveying the guest experience, and guiding clients through proposal and booking process to help them to create a vision for their event. The individual must be extremely focused and have a positive attitude with a strong work ethic and a desire to offer the best client experience through the sales and booking process.
Responsibilities:
- Sales RFPs, Calls & Visits: maintain consistent and timely follow-up on sales RFPs with a focus on setting a tour of venue. Sales executive is responsible for hitting weekly and monthly site visit goals. All client communication and tasks will be captured in CRM system to ensure organization and tracking of goals.
- Business Development: Generate new business through networking, targeting potential clients, and actively following up on sales leads. Stay up to date with industry trends. Research leads, identify opportunities and network within the field. Coordinate and attend company-sponsored events.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and vendors. Create, maintain and review client portfolios to document conversations and plans for future business. Secure repeat business from previous clientele.
- Event Planning: Deliver outstanding and comprehensive service to all clients throughout the sales process. Gather information to create proposals for each event that include menus, staffing, rentals, pricing, etc. Attend events to mingle with clients and ensure needs are being met. Follow-through with post event conversations and document feedback. Maintain strong vendor relations and communication prior to and during the sales process to ensure seamless event execution.
- Team Support: Document all pertinent information from clients and relay to team members. Provide detailed notes to include event set-up, menus, rental needs, etc. Communicate with the culinary and service teams to prepare for the event, and provide post event feedback.
- Continuous Development: Be a catalyst for continuous improvement. Identify opportunities and ensure that current tools and resources are used effectively to enhance performance. Foster partnership and interdependence between teams.
- Flexible Schedule: available to work and meet with clients outside of the normal weekday business hours. Two Saturdays per month required to offer private tours of venue.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, business marketing or hospitality management. Equivalent work experience in the industry acceptable.
- Two or more years’ experience in event sales and planning. Proven ability to guide customers through the event planning process with the ability to close the sale, preferably in an upscale arena.
- Results oriented and flexible; takes action as soon as need arises and can demonstrate positive results; steadily follows through on tasks; able to find a balance between the business requirements and meeting client requests; absorbs new information quickly and translates key points into positive outcomes.
- Has a passion for sales and is skilled in needed areas; good at visualizing how to develop events, scale them appropriately to achieve a remarkable client experience. Demonstrated ability to engage and sell proactively, gaining buy-in, respect, trust, and accountability to achieve goals.
- High energy level; has demonstrated resilience, endurance and persistence throughout career.
