Job title: Galley Associate 

Reporting to: Galley Lead 

FLSA: Non-Exempt 

ROLE PROFILE 

The IOYC Galley Associate will be successful when: 

• IOYC private and public events are flawlessly executed, with high quality food and service throughout the yachting season.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

DAILY OPERATIONS 

• Create a consistent high quality food product and culinary experience 

• Display a basic knowledge of cooking, ingredients and preparations 

• Ability to assist the team when necessary to ensure completion of tasks and duties including the sanitation of china, flatware and glassware 

• Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with guests during dinner service 

• Able to assist with set up, presentation and guest facing service of food items at designated dining stations, while keeping the dining stations clean and organized throughout the cruise 

• Consistently ensure that dining stations are replenished throughout the cruise 

• Demonstrate an eagerness to refine techniques and a desire to continually learn and grow 

• Ability to maintain a positive attitude throughout the workday 

FINANCIAL IMPACT 

• Support management by identifying eating trends that lead to waste 

• Follows direction from Galley Lead regarding recipes to avoid wasted product 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE  

• Must be able and willing to work seasonal event driven schedule including nights, weekend and summer holidays 

• Must be 17 years or older 

• Working knowledge of food handling, food sanitation and safety 

• One-year previous experience preferred in a culinary role or food and beverage facility 

• Positive attitude and the willingness to work with all facets and levels of management
