What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Continental Mills?
The Financial Analyst, Division Finance will be responsible for providing financial planning and analysis support to the Division Finance Manager, managers and employees throughout the company. This role will also heavily partner cross functionally with the rest of the organization making financial acumen and interpersonal skills imperative. The principal objective of the position is to help ensure company resources are used effectively and efficiently.
Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
- Budget & Forecasting – Support the Division’s annual operating plan (budget) to implement the company’s overall strategy and establish operating and financial plans and commitments for the year. Partner with Division leadership monthly in developing the financial forecast.
- Month End Analysis – Support the month end financial close process through, close activities, analysis and storytelling of the financials.
- Financial Support - Act as a financial liaison to managers, providing analytical and planning support, and increasing their knowledge about the financial aspects of our business.
- New Product Development – Support the Division to ensure we are commercializing new products that deliver the desired financial results and that our new product pipeline meets financial hurdles. This includes supporting the costing of new products, pricing analysis, as well as providing product / project PnL’s.
- Financial & Performance Analysis – In general, analyze the performance of CM departments, divisions and businesses and provide recommendations so that management can effectively respond to problems and exploit new opportunities. Assist managers in the analysis of new projects and systems which may have a financial impact on the company. Where required, assist in project implementation.

- Knowledgeable about financial analysis techniques, including discounted cash flow, net present value, internal rate of return
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Word) and Hyperion Essbase
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills, both oral and written

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related area or equivalent experience/training preferred
- Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) preferred
- 3 years of financial planning and analysis experience supporting key business stakeholders preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included.
