What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician position at Continental Testing?
Job Purpose:
Test, Calibrate, and Repair a wide variety of tools, instruments, and electronic test equipment.
Duties:
* Test and calibrate various tools and equipment per OEM or GIDEP test procedures. Equipment types include but not limited to: Torque Wrenches, Pressure Gauges, Tensiometers, Tachometers, Thermometers, VOM’s, Micrometers, Calipers, Scales, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM’s, Force Gauges, Pitot Static Test Sets, and many more. This work will be performed in accordance with ISO-17025 and ANSI-Z540.1 requirements.
* Repair any or all of the above equipment. This will require troubleshooting of mechanical and electronic equipment.
* Research specifications, test procedures, and other documentation required to perform the above duties. This will be for a wide variety of equipment including very obscure and obsolete equipment.
* Research the equipment required to perform the test / calibration functions outlined above.
* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications and / or other training.
* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required and Associates Degree in Electronics is desired. Military PMEL training or equivalent highly desired.
Experience:
* Metrologist / Calibration Technician experience desired but not required.
* Experience as an electronic technician is desired.
Travel:
* Work performed both in the facility as well as at customer's site. As such, travel is required up to 35%; most of which are overnight trips of up to two weeks.
* A valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Skills/Qualifications:
* Electronic Systems, Quality Focus, Calibration, Metrology, PMEL
Shift / Work Schedule:
* First shift.
* Monday through Friday typically
* Normally 40 hours per week with overtime as required (approximately 10% to 20% especially during onsite calibrations)
Other Requirements:
* Ability to lift 50 lbs. required.
* Drug testing on employment and random screening required.
* Must be legally eligible to work in the USA with no DHS security restrictions or limitations.
