Vernon, IL location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Digital Services Technologist to join our group.  The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is dependable and accountable.

  THE POSITION

  The Digital Services Technologist supports IT interface systems (e.g. CGMS, DOPAC, …) to the machine PLC and troubleshoot these systems. This requires in depth knowledge of the hardware, software, and machine sequence in all manufacturing areas.
• Support IPC Management and Change Management. This includes patching, backing up, protecting, and maintaining the software of control systems, such as IPC's, PLC's, drives, communication devices, etc.
• The required qualifications: good communication skills, the ability/willingness to lean and train others in both the production and maintenance areas. They must also work well in a team.
• The preferred qualifications: good knowledge of networking, computer skills, and programming/troubleshooting in Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, and Siemens.

Overview of IT Interface Systems

IT interface systems are in general terms any IT system that interfaces to a machine PLC. They are implemented at the machine level, creating a “bridge” to the IT world to provide  orders, validation of materials, operator traceability, recipes, process data collection, etc.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Individual tasks, duties and responsibilities of the position)

1. Hands-on assistance with CGMS and other systems integrated into machines. Machine knowledge though the whole manufacturing process is required.
2. Setup, organize or assist in scheduling or coordination of machine down time required to complete item 1.
3. Setup, organize or assist in technical training of CGMS and other IT systems for technicians on the shopfloor and other members of Digital Services.
4.  Assist in the design, installation, and startup of new or modified equipment 
5.  Assist in CGMS and other system client software updates/upgrades, installation and testing.
6. Assist installation, upkeep of documentation and machine IPC backups
7.  Maintain records of temporary, evaluation or special circumstance for PLC/IPC program changes
8. Support IPC Management and Change Management in the plant.
9. Update electrical drawings when changes to control systems are made
10. Assist or develop detailed step by step procedures for setup, troubleshooting or problematic situations and training on off shifts
11. Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Digital Services, Head of Maintenance, or Head of Engineering
12. Available for after shift or after hour phone support and call in as requested
13. Available for vacancy coverage of Digital Services Engineers
14. Must be able to communicate with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel in an effective, positive and professional manner.

Basic Qualifications

Associates Degree in Technical Field

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support

Candidate must be capable of making hardware and software changes to machines, as well as validating changes with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Quality.
