Overview
The Press Operator ensures safe, reliable, efficient operation of their assigned press line(s) for the duration of their shift, to consistently produce high quality products for our valued customers.
Responsibilities
· Performs all work safely and in accordance with all company safety procedures and policies.
· Performs necessary pre-operational activities in accordance with company procedures to ensure proper startup and operation of assigned press line(s).
· Operates/monitors press line equipment to ensure safe, reliable, quality production with minimal unplanned equipment downtime.
· Frequently monitors and assesses product quality against established specifications and appropriately collaborates with Quality Control to address identified defects.
· Maintains equipment and work area cleanliness in accordance with company procedures and standards.
· Identifies equipment malfunctions and promptly communicates with Maintenance team to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
· Documents production and operational data to ensure accurate records of inventory, process controls and equipment downtime.
· Communicates frequently with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production, at high levels of quality and efficiency, with minimal waste.
· Proposes and implements improvements to manufacturing processes and methods, including problem identification and potential solutions.
· Supports plant operations through scheduled voluntary or mandatory overtime, or emergent call-out, when necessary.
Requirements
· Dependable and reliable.
· Positive attitude, teamwork oriented and strong work ethic.
· Experience as a production machine operator in a manufacturing facility.
· Must possess strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills to identify, document, diagnose and resolve equipment performance issues, process interruptions and product quality issues.
· Previous forklift experience a plus.
· Able to periodically lift/handle product weights of approximately 60lbs.
· Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
