Fleet Laboratories is seeking a Microbiologist I to assure the microbiological quality of raw materials, bulk products, finished products, and stability samples by conducting, coordinating, and reporting test results and analyses in compliance with the established standards and specifications. Perform environmental testing and monitoring of the facility and microbiology lab.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform compendial or in-house microbiological testing according to established standards and specifications
- Moderate direct impact on profitability results from maintaining proper technical control over product quality
- Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, stability, and validation studies.
- Participate in equipment monitoring, maintenance, and equipment calibrations in the Microbiology Laboratory
- Participate in the development and auditing of procedures and work instructions to comply with cGMPs, EU, OSHA, and EPA regulatory requirements. Perform a variety of related record-keeping and reporting functions
- Complete environmental monitoring and testing
- Execute collection and testing of the purified water system.
- Perform microbiological testing on developmental R&D samples
- Complete internal monthly audit of the Microbiology Lab
- Execute sterilization of equipment used for testing and documentation.
- Ensure all supplies are available and assist with ordering supplies.
- Complete daily calibrations and review daily calibrations.
- Execute growth promotion testing and sterility testing on prepared and received media for release.
- Assist with microbiological testing for investigations.
- Assist with training and instruction of supportive personnel in the Microbiology Laboratory
- Perform microbiological testing of validation protocols.
- Perform other tasks as delegated or assigned by the supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING
- A Minimum of BS degree in a scientific discipline (Biology or Microbiology preferred), or the equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in quality laboratory work
- Knowledge of the cGMP regulations is essential
- Able to understand and apply company SOPs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently
