What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Control Devices?
Overview:
We are looking for a financial analyst to join our growing team. Are you looking for an opportunity to own variance analysis and profitability reviews? Want to partner with leaders across the company to help establish, maintain and review company pricing protocols? Then this role might be for you. This position requires a self-motivated problem solver with the ability to work independently as well as be a contributing member of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget. Research and explain variances. Report this information monthly or as needed.
- Work with CFO and FP&A Manager to implement cost accounting policies and procedures.
- Perform various analytical reviews for the company identifying areas of overall improvement and opportunities.
- Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support Operations and Sales.
- Develop, monitor, and communicate reports on production and sales to leadership team.
- Lead by item gross margin reviews.
- Assist in the development of labor and overhead rates, along with the yearly/monthly budget.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- A strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting.
- Advanced Excel user capability (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial analyst or cost accounting role.
- Proven ability to understand cost accounting, financial analysis and interpret data to present to upper-level management.
- Knowledge of advanced ERP systems (preferably Macola EM10) and SQL reporting capability is a plus.
- Previous experience working for a manufacturing facility a plus.
