ControlPoint Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to provide Industry Leadership and Technical Leadership for Electric Utility Projects.
The Lead Distribution Planning Engineer will be based in either our Rockland, MA office, Mansfield, MA office or may work Remotely depending on experience.

Must have direct experience with System Planning with preference towards Distributed Energy Resource experience in the Electric Power Industry.

Responsibilities
The Lead Distribution Planning Engineer will be an active Project Lead Consultant.

Projects may include:
  • Area Planning Studies
  • System Modeling for Short-Circuit and Power Flow Analysis
  • Asset Condition & Assessment
  • Analytical Studies for Distribution System
  • Distributed Generation Interconnection Studies
  • Electric System Impact Studies
    • Mitigation & Alternate Solution Development

Ability to manage and develop planning engineering criteria and quality programs specific to client needs and requirements.

Project Management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines is required. Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence.

Demonstrated ability as a consulting engineer to determine project scope, establish budget, develop project plan and schedule.

Proposal writing, establishing budgets and schedules with customers in a collaborative environment is essential. A high level of customer service is expected with ability to solicit feedback and be highly responsive to customer needs.

Ability to manage multiple client needs and requirements at once.

Project Management skills and understanding of project controls, change management, and engineering is required.

Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence.

  • Professional attitude, accountable, able to work independently and with utility groups, departments and operations.
  • Ability to estimate project scope and develop project plan to meet critical success factors.
  • ASPEN, CYME, PSS/E, Synergi, Python
    • Planning Criteria & Standards, ISO, FERC, NERC, NPCC

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Masters Degree Preferred
  • Power Engineering Professional Engineer License and NCEES Certification
  • A minimum of ten (10) years experience in the electric utility industry is required.
  • Two (2) or more years experience in project leadership role, supervisory role, or business development role is preferred as related to Distribution Planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and high level of business and engineering ethics.
  • Communicate as needed with clients to ensure positive client experience.
  • Ability to work in the United States without a sponsor.
