40Summary:
Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in an inpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Provides coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including continued hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority. Collaborates with the assigned team members to support and adjust plan of care and length of stay for patient care needs.
Education:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Masters Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Minimum 2 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.

Physician Assistants
Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred
Certification/Licensure:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
Certified as a PMHNP, PNP or FNP
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (as of October 1, 2019)

Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license Certified as a PA-C
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (as of October 1, 2019)
