Overview

The business process engineer supports the entire global R&D team.  They develop business processes and tools that improve efficiency and effectiveness of Global Product Development (NPD) activities.  The role focuses on the business activities which occur outside the quality system(s).  A primary focus will be on continuous improvement of our New Product Development activities.  Examples include how projects are evaluated and selected, how the portfolios of the Divisions are compiled and visualized, how the organization plans and creates strategies around product introductions, how teams who support new product development plan resources or how the organization creates and tracks metrics around the performance of the Global R&D activities. 

 

This role is preferred on-site/hybrid that will have the ability to work from any of our Cook facilities, depending on the candidates location, but open to fully remote candidates.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training on business processes and tools to relevant stakeholders.

 

• Monitor and sustain current business processes that support Global Product Development activities, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

 

• Ensure NPD business processes are efficient, effective, and compliant in meeting the needs of stakeholders.

Sustainment and process improvements of the NPD Business Process/Stage Gates.

 

• Implementation of new business processes and tools to support Global Product Development.

 

• Assist in necessary reporting on organization portfolios. 

 

• Assist with implementation of tools and processes that enhance stakeholder visibility/consumption of relevant data as well as aid in the analytics of available data.

 

• Assist in Product Review Team meetings with Cook Medical executive leadership and the divisions.

 

• Meet deadlines and complete administrative tasks such as expenses, training, reporting, policy acknowledgements, etc. in a timely manner.

 

• Maintain our culture, values and commitment to ethics and compliance by recognizing, demonstrating, and enforcing appropriate and compliant behavior.

 

• Understand and be accountable for conducting Cook business with integrity and in compliance with applicable standards, including Cook policies.

 

• Within scope of responsibility, ensure all quality, regulatory, compliance, and product-specific requirements are met.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• College degree and/or relevant work experience in industrial engineering or relevant discipline, with minimum 3 years of experience.

 

• Experience working in R&D, new product development, and/or business environment.

 

Preferred Experience:

• MBA/Busines background/experience

 

• Experience working within/knowledge of the NPD Business Process/Stage Gates.

 

• Experience managing complex projects.

 

• Experience working in a global environment across many cultures and regions, managing and executing complex projects/programs in a product development environment.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.

 

• Experience in listening to users, deciphering user needs and translating those needs into solutions that bring value back to the target users.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Approximately 85% of the time is spent in a normal office environment requiring sitting and moving around the building.  • Approximately 15% of time is spent in domestic/international travel to various locations to support project activities.
