Overview
Validation Engineering Co-op student to engage in both development and testing on new and existing processes as well as maintenance of software and hardware of K-Tube’s miniature stainless steel manufacturing.
Part-time non-exempt position - 20 hrs / week. Payrate : $25.00 / hour
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of requirements and output documents for product releases
- Assist in the creation of test protocols and reports
- Execute testing against requirements
- Ensure compliance with ISO regulatory requirements and K-Tube’s Quality processes
- Potential for design work to create test fixtures or software for verification and validation testing
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Bio-Medical engineering and / or a similar discipline
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University and have successful completed 3 years of undergraduate coursework (minimum of 60 credit hours towards Bachelor’s degree)
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to provide college transcripts as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
- Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship
Preferred Qualifications :
- Prior experience as a quality, regulatory, or design engineer in medical device field
- Knowledge of all phases of product development, including design, implementation, verification, validation, and manufacturing is preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel
Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Light to moderate physical effort required
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility
Work Environment :
- Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment
- Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials
- Required to wear K-Tube polo shirt
- Safety glasses and safety shoes are required
- Other personal safety equipment required as listed in SDS depending on task may include safety goggles, ear protection, full-face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots and gloves
