Accountant

Position Description:

We are looking for an Accountant for our growing team. The Accountant will provide all the financial, administrative, and transactional support required for a dynamic team.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Process vendor invoices, employee and officer expenses, and related transactions

· Ensure invoices, cheque requests and expense reports are properly supported

· Ensure the accuracy of sales tax and prepare quarterly/annually sales tax returns

· Manage inventory and track inventory on hand and receipt

· Day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks

· Process payment runs including cheques, wires, ACHs and EFTs etc.

· Prepare account reconciliations including vendor, customer and bank reconciliations

· Oversee intercompany transactions and prepare month-end reconciliations

· Correspond with vendors, respond to inquiries and resolve invoice discrepancies

· Maintain up-to-date vendor, customer and sales records

· Assist with other tasks within the group where applicable

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Post secondary education in accounting

· Proficient with QuickBooks (desktop/online)

· Must be extremely detail-oriented and maintain high level of accuracy

· Excellent communication and organization skills

· Must be a team player and able to work independently under minimum supervision

· Must be adaptable to ever changing demands and work well under pressure for tight deadlines

Additional Desired Qualifications:

· Full cycle accounting experience in a high-volume environment

· Experience with multi-group transaction and payroll desirable

· Mining or mineral exploration industry experience is an asset
