Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Pullet Farm Manager to join our team in Fort Recovery.
The primary goal of this position is to oversee all daily activities of the farm to produce the highest quality, disease free, cage free pullets at the least possible cost while maintaining a safe and productive work area which promotes personal growth.
Job Functions:
- Assure all biosecurity procedures are followed and continually critique programs for improvements
- Develop and monitor an atmosphere where safety is always in everyone’s mind and react to all unsafe acts or conditions on the farm
- Schedule and supervise the daily routine of all team members and assist in these activities
- Ensure weekend and off-peak hours are monitored, to maintain supervision and production needs
- Monitor and control flock health by creating the best possible environment through feeding, ventilation, and biosecurity.
- Manage all aspects of pullet production including following all Cooper Farm policies and procedures, following best practices for cage-free pullet production.
- Mange all controllable costs associated with each pullet flock; labor, supplies, repairs, and medicine
- Maintain the entire facility: Maintenance upkeep, equipment in operable condition, secure of any visitors, animals, wildlife, and at a very presentable appearance to neighbors and community
- Keep accurate and current records: Flock reports, feed and water consumption, time records and team member paperwork, and report it to the office in a timely manner
- A 2 or 4-year degree in agricultural business or poultry science with an emphasis in production preferred
- Experience in personnel management preferred.
