Primary Responsibilities
- Manage engineering tasks related to fuel, brake, and transmission lines within vehicle programs.
- Apply expertise in internal and customer manufacturing and design processes specific to fluid lines.
- Release engineering change requests and oversee program development reviews and design reviews.
- Develop and support the auto-quote process and ensure product validation for fuel, brake, and transmission lines.
- Ensure designs meet all functional SOW requirements.
- Serve as the technical interface with customers, design, manufacturing plants, testing, sales, program management, purchasing, and suppliers regarding fluid lines.
- Manage program design status, including design timelines.
- Participate in technical troubleshooting and structured corrective actions for fluid line issues.
- Lead and support customer management meetings focused on fluid lines.
- Mentor associate program engineers in fluid line engineering.
- Maintain program data, drawings, and other engineering documents in the Cooper Standard Product Life Cycle Management system.
- Occasionally perform duties beyond this description as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferred.
- 5 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on fuel, brake, and transmission lines.
- Proven problem-solving skills and technical judgment.
- Ability to impact team quality and effectiveness, working within guidelines and policies.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex information.
- Technical aptitude in engineering disciplines related to fluid lines.
- Knowledge of customer and internal APQP processes.
- Experience in evaluating and resolving vehicle build and validation issues specific to fluid lines.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D data manipulation.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, including DFMEA understanding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to create drawing layouts, detail parts, and apply GD&T.
- Skilled in assessing design alternatives and prioritizing risks.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
