Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking an Assistant Controller at our central business office in Westerville, OH. The Assistant Controller is responsible for general accounting and financial analysis for multiple entities, business units, and departments/physicians. This position manages a team responsible for month end close processes including journal entry preparation and processing, general ledger reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis, and budgeting.
POSITION(S) SUPERVISED: Accounting Managers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Direct and coordinate the preparation of the annual budget.
- Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate year-end review with outside CPA firm.
- Analyze current processes, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement solutions.
- Standardize process and procedures to continually improve financial processes.
- Assist with identification and implementation of accounting tools/systems.
- Participate in or lead various finance/accounting department projects, or process improvement efforts, including design, implementation, reporting and support.
- Communicate as necessary to answer questions and inform leadership concerning financial performance.
- Collaborate with various department leaders providing insight into and resolution of accounting questions.
- Monitor the operating effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls. Identify and mitigate risks and gaps.
- Work closely with Senior Leadership on creation and implementation of policies and procedures for accounting department.
- Direct, manage, evaluate, and develop a team of accounting professionals to ensure the organization's strategy is implemented effectively and complies with all regulations and laws.
- Lead and build professional talent. Provide direction and oversight on complex issues as they arise and act as a resource.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education, Licensures & Certifications
- Required: BS in Accounting or Finance
- Required: 10 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience to include 5 years of proven management experience, preferably in the health care industry.
- Required: Certified Public Accountant
- Preferred: Public Accounting Experience
