What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Analyst position at Copeland?
This role is an exciting opportunity to support the HVACR Americas business. The Materials Analyst position manages materials requirements to ensure parts availability for the production schedules, while maintaining inventory levels to the prescribed days-on-hand goals. This includes analyzing future demand and consumption to ensure commodities are readily available for production needs by using our MRP/ERP systems, Kanbans/Pull Systems, and by expediting material, as required. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for driving improvements in the material processes and will work as a part of the team to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery. The position requires a significant interface with suppliers, Customer Service, Production, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering.
AS A MATERIALS ANALYST, YOU WILL:
- Manages MRP/ERP systems to ensure timely receipt of materials to meet production schedules.
- Tracks progress of materials and expedite, as required.
- Manages Kanbans/Pull Systems to meet production and inventory targets.
- Manages inventory levels of assigned parts/commodities to meet inventory goals.
- Coordinates engineering and supplier changes with the appropriate Corporate groups.
- Manages new part introductions.
- Manages supplier returns.
- Participates in cost reduction and continuous improvement activities.
- Cross-trains in other positions in the department.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- BA/BS in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong computer skills (Excel)
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems, such as Oracle or SAP
- Raw inventory material or supply chain management experience is preferred
- Capable of using Lean tools such as Kanban/Pull Systems, value stream mapping, and perfect execution strategies

About Our Location
Alliance Compressors is a joint venture established by Emerson, Trane (now a part of Ingersoll Rand), and Lennox International. The partnership was formed for the purpose of developing, manufacturing, and marketing one through six-ton scroll compressors. Scroll compressors are used in commercial and residential air conditioning units. The current facility is over 365,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 35,000 square feet of office space. This climate-controlled facility is the third-largest manufacturing business in the area, and offers its 600 employees many opportunities for advancement.
