Requirements

job duties

plan an organized program of activities, in conjunction with other Activity Coordinators, with emphasis on social and leisure programs, for elderly residents in need of supportive services or specialized dementia care
maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to encouraging resident participation in social programs
improve morale and contribute to general health of residents, particularly to the emotional and social improvement of residents with dementia
improve resident independence by overcoming apathy and preoccupation of negative thoughts
encourage efforts and interest of families and volunteers
determine the necessary supplies and equipment needed for group and individual activities of residents
adhere to daily activities schedule, as designated
help with caregiver duties as needed if applicable

this position reports directly to the director
