Reports to Manager of Field Operations
Job Purpose
The Site Superintendent is 100% responsible for proactively leading, communication, directing, and monitoring the progress of construction activities while maintaining client satisfaction, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Attend hand-off meeting hosted by the Project Manager prior to start of project to go over permits, plans, specifications, scopes of work, submittals, RFIs, etc.
- Perform full review of contract documents (i.e., drawings, details of drawings, specifications, post-bid meeting minutes, bid clarifications, permits, etc.) prior to start of project.
- Schedule and attend on-site kickoff meeting with Project Manager and all subcontractors to review expectations, schedule, site specific safety program, and progress meeting schedule.
- Communicate with owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and team members to coordinate daily activities and document all important conversations/information.
- Manage and maintain safety on the site including toolbox talks, safety check lists, and continuous observation of safe work practices.
- Inspect all construction to ensure trade contractors’ work is in compliance with plans and specifications.
- Verify materials and installation are per approved submittals and shop drawings
- Coordinate scheduling of testing consultants and municipal inspections for construction activities and monitor the accuracy and timeliness of test reporting.
- Distribute requests for information (RFIs) as required.
- Monitor storm water pollution prevention plan and actively ensure compliance on a daily basis. Obtain required reports from designated storm water operator.
- Complete daily reports with pictures, documentation, relevant discussions, correspondence, etc.
- Schedule and coordinate weekly progress meetings with agenda, look ahead schedule, and minutes.
- Update master schedule at regular intervals.
- Maintain project as-built drawings.
- Create and distribute detailed GC punch list.
- Facilitate creation of owner/AE punch List. Set-up and track completion of listed items.
- Provide all necessary field documentation for close-out.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- 5 years of commercial construction experience
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (preferred, not required)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
