LOCATION: Corban University’s 220 acre campus is situated on a hillside forest setting overlooking the Willamette Valley, just minutes from the heart of Salem, Oregon’s capital city. The rugged coast awaits only an hour’s drive to the west. To the east is the mountainous Cascade Range. Portland, the state’s largest city, is less than an hour away and is home to cultural museums, parks, shopping, and restaurants.
POSITION SUMMARY: The University Registrar plays a critical role in the University and Academic operations by effectively managing the maintenance and integrity of all student academic records, the approved curriculum, the creation and maintenance of course schedules, university academic catalogs, graduation, all areas of student registration and the recording and reporting of grades, compliance with FERPA regulations, and the establishment and maintenance of processes for the equitable and consistent administration of policies and procedures as they relate to registration and academic record keeping. The University Registrar must provide strong leadership consistent with the academic goals and mission of the institution. The Registrar must create and maintain collaborative working relationships with institutional leadership, faculty, and staff and support Corban University programs and policies as established by federal, state, administrative, and academic entities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
LEADERSHIP SKILLS: Possess the desire and ability to work independently yet still recognize the need to communicate and work with other individuals and departments. Must be able to build teams, work with other teams in the University, and rally others to accomplish tasks and projects critical to the institutional mission. Must also possess strong interpersonal skills which would be demonstrated by the ability to work well with a variety of people on an individual basis.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Must have a high level of skills with MS Office programs including MS Word and Excel. Must also possess the understanding of student information systems and how they can be utilized to their fullest potential. Must be able to develop efficient and effective processes utilizing the computer systems resulting in accurate information being entered, stored, and disseminated.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; interpret a variety of instructions, some technical in nature. They must be solution oriented and desire to serve students, staff and faculty in a variety of ways. The consistent application of academic policy is essential in this role. A strong working knowledge of Corban academic policies is required as well.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Strong written and verbal communications skills. The individual must have the ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, alumni, or members of the education and business community.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred (or equivalency of 10 years of work experience in the higher education field). Evidence of strong leadership and administrative skills. At least five years of experience in a higher education environment required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasional weekend and evening hours are required to support registrar office operational responsibilities as well as the event of commencement.
