As Corbion’s Director of the Data Lab, you will lead a team of data analysts and engineers in leveraging data and analytics to drive insights, innovation, and business growth. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a cutting-edge data lab environment, ensuring the successful delivery of data-driven projects, and driving a culture of data excellence within Corbion.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management and Leadership:
- Manage and provide strategic guidance to a team of data analysts and engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting professional growth and development among team members.
- Set clear goals and objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and coaching to drive high performance.
Data Lab Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and execute the overall data lab strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring the effective use of data and analytics to drive insights and decision-making.
- Identify and prioritize data lab initiatives and projects, allocating resources and overseeing their successful execution.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and lab environments, and implement innovative solutions to enhance data capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists, IT, marketing, operations, and product development, to identify data-driven opportunities and provide insights to support strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, translate them into actionable data lab projects, and deliver high-quality results.
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Develop and implement data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Establish data quality frameworks and processes, monitoring and addressing data quality issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics) or a related discipline. A Master's Degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (8 years) in data science, data analytics, or a related field, with a focus on managing complex data-driven projects and teams.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards a common goal.
- In-depth knowledge of data analysis, data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques.
- Experience in implementing and managing data lab environments, including infrastructure, tools, and platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex concepts and insights to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of delivering data-driven insights to support business decisions.
