The Technology Support Specialist coordinates the secure, productive, and effective use of technology in the facility. They provide hardware and software technical support to users of personal computers and associated equipment. Also they will coordinate technology services, maintenance, and training throughout the facility.
- Ensure information technology resources (computer hardware, network and operating systems software and telecommunications hardware) function properly and are maintained in good operating condition.
- Provide hardware and software technical support to users of personal computers and associated equipment.
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on personal computers and related equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, LAN and WAN equipment, PC's, laptops, telecom equipment, key control devices, various software and peripherals.
- Analyze the need for new computer equipment; analyzes equipment for quality, compatibility, reliability and suitability to the institution’s needs.
- Provide configuration requirements for new computer acquisitions, recommends methods of using existing equipment to satisfy new requirements and performs benchmark tests of proposed new equipment. Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Computer Science or related technology field is required.
- Two years of experience in desktop support is required.
- Additional years of related work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Must have experience supporting Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, Microsoft Office Suite and technology hardware including computer, printers and scanners.
- Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot a basic network infrastructure.
- A and N certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
