Design Engineer - NPD (19377-1)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform technical studies in support of cost saving initiatives.
• Identify new cost saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Coordination across multiple departments for solutions to issues or initiatives.
• Work with stakeholders to capture needed improvements and process updates.
• Develop new products & concepts for Aircraft interiors.
• Support design and integration of aircraft interior monuments, Stowage, Closets, Partitions, Dividers etc.
• Proficient in engineering design and material selection.
• Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.
• Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD, verify fit, form and function of mechanical designs.
• Verify structural acceptability and reliability of designs by analysis, comparison, and test.
• Ensure designs comply with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Utilize engineering fundamentals such as classic hand analysis, FEA, as well as FMEAs, and DFMA to validate design content.
• Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 15 years of relevant experience is required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have experience in one or more of the following:
• Commercial Aircraft interior design.
• Commercial Aircraft level integration.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in aircraft level integration for commercial aircraft interior products.
• Experience in statement of work creation and requirements management is a plus
• Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
• Familiarity with FAA requirements a plus.
• 3D CAD Experience
• Experience in one or more of the following aircraft systems:
• Potable water
• Vacuum waste
• Environmental Control Systems (ECS).
• Passenger gaseous and chemical oxygen systems

MUST HAVE one or more of the following
• Experience in commercial aircraft interior product design.
• CAD, Siemens NX CAD design experience required.
