Banquet Server

Summary

The duties and responsibilities of a Banquet Server are generally to provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire event process to ensure the highest standard of customer satisfaction.This individual will promote a safe and welcoming working environment and work with the Banquet Manager to ensure maximum efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Signin and reportto the Banquet Manageron time and in full uniform.
• Performbanquet set up and serviceas outlined in the Banquet Event Order.
• Greetguests upon their arrival to function.
• Relayfood orders and retrievebeverages.
• Followstandard procedures for banquet service, including set up and side duties.
• Presentin professional appearance and mannerisms.
• Workcooperatively with the banquet department to assure smooth operations.
• Performother related duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.
• Relay important information about orders, allergies and special requests to the appropriate person.
• Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns.
• Assistin table and banquet room clean up.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of basic banquet service
• Previous server experience is preferred, but notrequired.
• Fluency in other languages beneficial

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Carry large trays or multiple plates of hot food to serve guests.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Deal effectively and interact well with coworkers and guests.
• Transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication English skills.
• Ability to follow verbal directions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
