Summary
The duties and responsibilities of a Banquet Server are generally to provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire event process to ensure the highest standard of customer satisfaction.This individual will promote a safe and welcoming working environment and work with the Banquet Manager to ensure maximum efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Signin and reportto the Banquet Manageron time and in full uniform.
- Performbanquet set up and serviceas outlined in the Banquet Event Order.
- Greetguests upon their arrival to function.
- Relayfood orders and retrievebeverages.
- Followstandard procedures for banquet service, including set up and side duties.
- Presentin professional appearance and mannerisms.
- Workcooperatively with the banquet department to assure smooth operations.
- Performother related duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.
- Relay important information about orders, allergies and special requests to the appropriate person.
- Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns.
- Assistin table and banquet room clean up.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices.
- Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic banquet service
- Previous server experience is preferred, but notrequired.
- Fluency in other languages beneficial
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Carry large trays or multiple plates of hot food to serve guests.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Deal effectively and interact well with coworkers and guests.
- Transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
- Operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Effective verbal and written communication English skills.
- Ability to follow verbal directions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
