Position Overview
The Managing Director, Technology is responsible for translating company and team vision and strategy into a roadmap based on priorities while working closely with our Chief Technology Officer. They will drive accountability across the team to deliver against the roadmap, communicate effectively across the Executive team and stakeholders, and help to deliver creative technology solutions using best practices to establish team- and company-wide standards. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for technology and its ability to transform, improve efficiency, and empower team members across the organization to greater levels of success. They should recognize the critical nature of technology across our Technology team (Product & Software Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems) and the importance of establishing resilient systems and practices to serve as the foundation for Core’s continued explosive growth.

What You Will Do

Manage day-to-day tactical business operations for the Technology Team including financials (payroll, expenses, and reporting), benefits, compliance, vendors, etc.

Recommend, implement and monitor technology initiatives and projects to advance the strategic initiatives of the CTO

Balance urgent and effective action, commitment to excellence, and taking the initiative to resolve problems; holding internal stakeholders accountable where appropriate

Develop, maintain, and track Technology team goals that help the organization to achieve its annual goals.

Manage internal communications and collaborate with stakeholders on communications strategies

Drive and manage forums for check-ins with product teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership

Hire, develop and supervise staff by defining and prioritizing goals, providing guidance, work direction, and promoting personal/professional development

The candidate’s demonstrated experience will determine the amount of direct team management responsibilities. The Technology Team is made up of:

Information Technology: responsible for IT support, operations, security, network, and procurement.

Information Systems: responsible for support of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and property management software (PMS) systems used across the organization.

Product & Software Engineering: responsible for improving the efficiency of team members through the creation or acquisition of products while creating an environment for rapid development

Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ideally, you'll have
-
10 years of proven experience working in Technology organizations
-
10 years of proven experience leading and managing projects from initiation through delivery
-
10 years of proven experience building and leading high performing Technology teams (either Product, Software Engineering, Information Technology, and/or Information Systems)

Strong Program Management skills with the ability to drive multiple initiatives in a dynamic organization with limited supervision

Analytic, strategic, and structured thinker with entrepreneurial drive

Clear and effective communicator via keyboard and in-person

Experience successfully working across multiple office locations

Experience negotiating optimal solutions across cross-functional teams

10 years of proven experience in working in management consulting, professional services, or corporate strategy with a history of success

Experience leading product strategy, product management, or product marketing team

Experience with budgeting and financial reporting

Experience in a high-growth business environment
