Position Overview:
CoreLink Surgical is one of the fastest growing, privately owned, medical device companies in the US. We design, manufacture, and distribute surgical implants and instruments for spinal fusion procedures (orthopedic and neurosurgical specialties). The company is based in St. Louis MO.
The Vice President of Marketing and Product Development will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and play a critical role in the continued growth of CoreLink. This is an ideal role for an integrated Marketing and Product Management expert who would enjoy building and executing the strategic priorities for marketing and product development. This person will be an involved hands-on “in the trenches leader” working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Operations and Finance at our headquarters located in St. Louis, MO.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Create and execute multi-year strategic growth plans and product roadmap; drive alignment on strategy with executive leaders, Sales, and R&D
- Establish portfolio value proposition across roadmap stages
- Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic plans and deliverables for CoreLink, while increasing sales
- Direct and align staff responsible for product development and brand awareness
- Understand market dynamics that influence business strategy; identify and predict strategic competitive plays and market positioning
- Execute market research activities to drive portfolio decisions, including prioritization of product and release features.
- Develop consistent approaches to product proposals, market models, metrics, and assumptions to enable strategic discussions and informed decisions
- Work with team to create launch materials, including instruction books, sell sheets, FAQs, and educational resources, as appropriate
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of products and supporting clinical information to better educate customers and sales team
- Must be able to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 15-20%
Qualifications & Skills:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
- At least 10 years of relevant medical device experience in marketing and/or product management and development
- Demonstrated ability to be a strong leader and strong business partner
- Proven strategic experience leading marketing and product launch campaigns
- The ability to ensure that team, departmental, and company goals are met with emphasis on setting and achieving timelines and priorities
- Good judgement and decision-making skills in sensitive and highly visible situations
PREFERRED:
- Experience with biomedical, medical device, spine, or hospital sales
- A substantive knowledge of the medical device industry, health care delivery, and managed care/reimbursement markets and the factors that drive them.
- Strong customer engagement, marketing analysis, financial/analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expertise in clinical studies and data collection processes
- Experience in product licensing, strategic partnerships as well as M&A
- FDA, Regulatory and compliance knowledge
