Corenic is seeking an experienced, well-versed, enthusiastic and goal-oriented Project Executive to lead the Operations department at their corporate office. The Project Executive will be responsible for overall project execution, coordination and oversight on all aspects of construction from inception to project closeout. Responsible for establishing project objectives for private, federal and local government clients for interior/building additions/ground up construction projects with an estimated annual volume of up to $15M. Responsible for ensuring that corporate resources relating to estimating and purchasing, scheduling, staffing, accounting and cost control, contract administration and project execution facilitation meetings and exceeding the client’s expectations.
In this role, the candidate will carry out the following essential duties and key responsibilities:
- Serves as contact for all communications between the Owner and its Architect/Engineer, Contractors, Consultants, and any specialty vendors throughout all phases of a project. Oversees development of total project cost budgets. Reviews invoices, change orders, RFI’s, Submittals, and other project requirements.
- Supervises project managers and entire project management team.
- Prepares cost estimates, or review cost estimates prepared by others. Reviews the performance of all construction management employees within each sector and makes recommendations to Executive team members regarding staffing, developmental needs, position evaluations, and compensation.
- Coordinates all project requirements with Architect/Engineer and Construction Managers. Prepares Executive Summaries from information received in the Project Reviews and holds review meetings with the Executive team to review the results.
- Responsible for managing the quality of the project(s) and manage facility to ensure successful completion.
- Manages monthly billing among staff members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Performs monthly project reviews with each project team regarding the following major activities: project schedule, safety, administration, and profitability, material and equipment procurement, quality of work, quality of relationships with owner, subcontractors, and A/E firms.
- Responsible for job close-outs and job profitability.
- Supports closing out accounting books on a monthly and quarterly basis and provides needed information to support the annual audit process.
- Responsible for insuring the efficient, timely and cost effective flow of construction projects, as well as having a solid understanding of construction projects and the effect their completion, delays or issues has on the organization.
- Confers with project staff to outline work plan(s) and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Meets with and maintains relationships with vendors, contractors/subcontractors, and other businesses that have a direct impact on the success of the company; handles any disputes/issues that may arise.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
- Develops work-arounds and alternative solutions for delays and other construction problems.
- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
- Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Construction Management or similar field
- Must possess a minimum of 7 years experience in a leadership, management role, leading a department of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
- Prior experience with a general contractor that specializes in interiors is required
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Prior experience working with a project management team and coordinating with Superintendents, clients, vendors, etc.
- Experience with ProCore, Sage and MS Project
