Introduction
Our Network teams have a maniacal focus on delivering world class network infrastructure by way of top notch automation on top of modern architectural and design concepts. Our goal is to build the most resilient, high performance network fabrics possible to accelerate our unique, and bleeding edge AI, ML, and VFX workloads for our customers, but also have fun doing it!
Your Role and Responsibilities
We build world class layer 3 Clos fabrics that support the most demanding AI/ML and VFX workloads. Wait…we said that above…let's talk about you, and how you’ll be doing that!
As our next amazing Sr. Backbone Network Engineer and purveyor of fine packets, you will be a critical part of a small team of highly motivated, and incredibly talented network engineers. Your day to day will include deploying new POP locations for our critical Backbone, as well as deploying datacenter fabrics at large scale. And why stop there? You’ll also be operationalizing the backbone you’ve helped Architect & Design, along with the DC Fabric. Finally, you’ll be learning new skills, leveraging automation frameworks developed by our NetDev’s to achieve the impossible…okay, you’ll achieve the really really hard for sure! But most importantly, you’ll be part of a super dynamic team with amazing skill sets, attitudes, and outlooks, within a company behind an industry movement that the general IaaS and Cloud industry hasn’t seen the likes of, since the early days of hyperscale cloud.
Qualifications
You should have at least 7 years of….
- A great attitude, without an ego, and a willingness to help those more junior, and learn from those more senior.
- Extensive work with one or more Vendors - Mellanox, Juniper, Nokia, Arista, etc...
- Experience with Backbone routing protocols - BGP, SR-MPLS, ISIS, VXLAN, EVPN
- Python & Shell Scripting - be a lazy engineer. Write code to do less
- Basic understanding in working with a source of truth (Netbox, Nautobot etc..)
- Being a Jinja Ninja Bring on some Ansible with it and show us (As a last resort)
- Deep Understanding of TCP/IP
- Consuming Automation Frameworks.
- Implementing Observability & Telemetry concepts - gNMI, SNMP via Prometheus etc..
- Participation in the Network Engineering On-Call rotation
- Linux Operating System experience
Nice-to-haves:
- 3 years experience directly or indirectly helping deploy & manage network infrastructure
- Direct or Indirect experience working with Service Provider networks.
Hybrid Workplace
Successful candidates will be expected to attend onboarding training at our NJ Headquarters within their first several weeks of employment, with subsequent quarterly travel requirements of 1 week duration.
