Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner – Adult Congenital Cardiology, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital

The Karl and Patricia Betz Congenital Heart Center (CHC) at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join its experienced staff. The ACHD program is fully accredited and has an extensive multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive subspecialty cardiac and psychosocial services to a large and growing population of patients throughout Michigan.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a collaborative spirit and track record of working successfully across multiple fields of practice. 

Also responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing adult congenital cardiology patients in the outpatient setting

Position Overview

• Independent visits with adult congenital cardiology patients in the outpatient setting
• Coordination of procedures including cardiac catheterizations, MRI, CT, TEE, etc.
• Occasional inpatient rounding on medical and surgical adult congenital patients
• Coordination of care with a multidisciplinary team of APPs, fellows, and physicians including cardiologists and surgeons.
• Management of EPIC inbox for the adult congenital cardiology team
• Highly subspecialized group of patients with varying levels of acuity and complexity
• Requires a high degree of collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team due to degree of patient complexity

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) is a nationally ranked, 234 bed state-of-the-art dedicated children’s hospital. It is physically attached to the adult medical services at Corewell Health, including Butterworth hospital and the Meijer Heart center.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner:

• Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
• 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience Required
• Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role Required
• Experience as a Nurse Practitioner Preferred
• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required

Physician Assistant:

• Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
• LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
