Specification Coordinator

Overview

Corgan seeks a dynamic, Specification Coordinator to join our growing firm in Dallas.  Specifications Coordinator will work under the Technical Design Director on specification projects.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Responsibilities

Finishing touches for Project Manual deliverables, which includes:

• Custom formatting of specifications as required.
• Adding modifying headers/footers for each specification section
• Creating/modifying Table of Contents and coordinating content with consultants
• Creating PDFs of each specification section.
• Backchecking each section
• Compiling all sections into final Project Manual.

Secondary Job Responsibilities

• Learn use of proposed building products and materials, their suitability for the intended application, and suggests alternatives when appropriate.
• Learn to schedule, allocate, and share workload to ensure adequate coverage for all projects.
• Ensure consultants receive and follow most current specification formatting requirements.
• Receive and review consultants' specifications for coordination with requirements of format.
• Maintain awareness of evolving building technology, systems, and building codes.
• Research new products and materials, and construction processes.
• Learn to plan, schedule, organize, and prepare construction specifications for the various phases / milestone deliverables of projects (including outline specifications when required).
• Maintain awareness of industry reference standards and sources / locations.
• Maintain awareness of sustainable design ratings systems, and sustainable products and materials.
• Maintain knowledge of and promote in-house specifications procedures and process.
• Assist design teams during CCA phase to review submittals, substitution requests, and specifications-related RFI's.
• Organize and plan accordingly to execute tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Assist with administration of the Wednesday Lunch & Learn program.
