Summary of Responsibilities

Payroll:
- Partner with key stakeholders in our Finance, Accounting, Legal and HR teams to ensure timely and accurate record keeping for payroll
- Own the payroll process from end to end and ensure the completeness and accuracy of payroll, including review of new hires, terminations and master-data changes against source documents, timecards, all types of leave tracking, bonuses, sales incentives, payroll deductions and payroll invoice reconciliation
- Oversee the administration of the company's 401(K) retirement plan, including processing of employee deferrals, loan repayments, and other transactions as well as all required reporting and compliance activities.
- Ensure payroll records/processes maintain compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- In collaboration with HR Systems, implement systems for payroll processes and identify opportunities to automate recordkeeping procedures.
- Prepare or review tax-related documents for payroll transactions
- Manage payroll related tax registration and workers' compensation audits
- Support internal and external auditors
- Comply with company policies, including performance of internal control procedures with high-quality documentation
- Assist with reporting materials for internal and external parties
- Identify and implement new processes to optimize efficiencies within the payroll related processes
- Validate tax filings and year-end W-2s
- Collaborate with HR to establish efficient processes for all aspects of the employee lifecycle that facilitate timely and accurate updates to payroll records
- Other projects as directed by manager
- Continually evaluating platform and process workflow and recommend improvements as applicable.
- Implement changes that position the function to scale as we grow, ensure quality control measures and implement policies.
- Administer (or assists in administering) and troubleshoots the financial and accounting aspects of Company benefits such as COBRA, 401K plan, health and welfare insurance benefits.
- Reconcile various benefit withholdings on a monthly basis.

LTI Operations:
- Lead and own long-term incentive operations to include all employee equity and cash transactions ensuring timely and accurate processing. These transactions include but are not limited to monitoring vesting, employee grants, cancellations, stock option exercise, LTIP payouts and related taxation events.
- Partner with Legal, HR, Finance and other teams to maintain and improve upon processes and procedures related to LTI operations
- Perform reconciliations and audits related to LTI administration
- Provide excellent customer service to employees
- Collect and prepare data on LTI activities for internal and external reporting or auditing
- Provide required reporting and support to Finance and Accounting
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Certified Equity Professional (CEP) preferred
- 5 – 8 years experience leading payroll with multiple locations required
- Additional experience with LTI administration preferred but not required.
- 2 years management experience
- Experience is preferably within the biopharmaceutical industry or broader industry acceptable.
- Comfortable in growth/build company setting.

- Strong knowledge of multi-state US payroll and tax compliance, with excellent understanding of payroll laws and regulations
- Supervision of the HR Payroll Lead, providing coaching, direction, training, development, and job performance evaluations
- Remain current with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements
- Remain current with long-term incentive compliance and taxation laws and regulations
- Produce reports for upper management upon request.
- Serve as the point of contact for Internal, External, Federal Payroll audits.
- Must have experience independently running payroll
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Workday, Solium Shareworks
- Experience with 401k retirement
