SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Manages the entire life-cycle of designated categories to reduce cost and improve operational efficiency. Responsible for the purchase and provision of various materials and services at the most advantageous price with the least amount of risk for the company. Also responsible for ensuring that all expenditures are in accordance with company policies and procedures. Additional duties include supplier contract and relationship management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
  • Evaluate proposals & negotiate terms and conditions to develop win-win scenarios for Cornerstone & suppliers.
  • Effectively manage contracting risk.
  • Prepare and analyze solicitations.
  • Actively manage supplier relationships to ensure continuous improvement and ongoing TCO reductions.
  • Work with finance and operations in the development of an accurate annual budget.
  • Work closely with operations on improving operation efficiency through effective supplier management.
  • Monitor compliance with various corporate policies.
  • Expedite material delivery when necessary.
  • Research & offer alternatives to reduce costs and/or delivery times.
  • Manage security of supply & cost for critical minor material and all services.

KEY SKILL’s (Must have):

  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strategic Sourcing experience
  • Cross-functional leadership ability
  • Familiarity with contracting terms.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Must have):

  • 5-8 years experience in procurement in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with developing and negotiating supplier contracts.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to source and secure goods and services.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred Certification(s): CPM, CPSM, CPIM, NAPM, ISM, or APICS affiliation
