Chief Marketing Officer
We are looking for a seasoned marketing executive to provide strategic and operational leadership for Cornerstone Research’s marketing, communications, client relationship building, business development, and expert development. The Chief Marketing Officer (“CMO”) will guide conceptualization, development, and execution of Cornerstone Research’s multi-year marketing plans. This role oversees programs that articulate the firm’s brand strategy, PR, thought leadership and research, expert marketing, consultant profile development, client outreach, recruiting and internal communications. The Marketing Team is responsible for all marketing communications and marketing events sponsored by the firm to support business retention and growth.

How You’ll Help Our Firm Succeed
- Enhance our firm’s competitive differentiation in the marketplace.
- Proactively create new initiatives to help grow the business and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Guide brand strategy both internally and externally in all aspects. Identify appropriate new methods and venues with growth opportunities.
- Support practice area and expert development leaders in business development and practice plan development. Coordinate with each of the Firm’s practice area to understand its business processes and offer solutions for developing and executing marketing and promotional plans including managing the marketing staff to accomplish those plans.
- Oversee the development, planning, execution and evaluation of the firm’s annual schedule of hosted client events, sponsorships, and speaking engagements, (both internal and external).
- Lead public relations approach and responses. Proactively address potential press issues and be ready for crisis communications as needed.
- Lead and develop marketing team of 16 professionals.
- Develop and manage the department’s annual budget, ensuring appropriate investment, cost control, and expense allocations.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- 20 years of experience in marketing and communications across a variety of industries; professional services experience preferred.
- The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm.

- Familiarity with financial and economic topics.
- Experience as a Chief Marketing Officer or in working with firm leadership on a strategic marketing level. Experience working in a matrix organization or partnership.
- Experience in working with European markets preferred.
- Strong managerial skills with experience developing team members across vertical functions.
- Highly developed ability to influence.
- Digital marketing experience, including experience implementing new marketing technology solutions.
- MBA or Master’s Degree in Marketing preferred.
