Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in fabrication, assembly, finish carpentry and painting for custom builds of all kinds
Operate standard shop tools such as table saw, router, sanders, pneumatics and various hand power tools required in the fabrication and assembly of final products
Assist in preparing various custom props and scenic elements for paint
Assist in a small amount of electronic prop wiring (low voltage)
Measure, cut, shape assemble and join materials
Preferred Qualification and Skills
Must possess a minimum of 3 years of carpentry and/or scenic experience
Must have intermediate knowledge and skill level with hand tools, power tools, various saws, routers and drills
Basic understanding of electrical wiring
Highly organized, self-motivated and able to multitask
Critical eye for detail and aesthetics
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Have a current driver License.
Read, speak, and write in English.
