Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of Position:
Provide college students an opportunity to quickly gain hands-on broad business commercial experience through an internship in Sales, Marketing, Market Development, Business Operations or Engineering Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support projects and day-to-day work in functional aspects of the Commercial process such as;
- Prepare and present an executive level presentation on an assigned commercial project.
- Participate in experiential learning, mentoring relationships, and development opportunities.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in the following fields:
- Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or other Telecom industry related degrees (Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Optical Science & Engineering)
- Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or relevant Sciences
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Interested in commercial operations roles such as sales, marketing, sales support, customer service, field engineering, product marketing and/or product management functions.
