Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Purpose of the Position
- The person will be responsible to oversee and direct the support of Corning’s on-premises SAP ECC systems and the supporting systems.
- This individual provides guidance and leadership to the IT department and its technicians, but also directly supports end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues.
- They will be responsible to improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of supply chain applications.
- This role also has direct supervisory responsibilities of global team members. The individual will be responsible for management responsibilities that includes resource planning, budgeting, people review, succession planning, and performance reviews.
- You will also drive all operational and management reporting.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Monitor systems and queues to drive meeting key measures
- Review and develop policies and procedures to ensure effective and reliable support
- Engage in escalations to resolution
- Participate in Production Rapid Response processes that effect system production performance
- Coordinate with project lead to allocate resources between support and projects
- Assist technical staff to check and ensure resolution of all issues to achieve all objectives
- Perform appropriate tests and provide training to ensure quality
- Coordinate with various groups to schedule and handle downtimes with minimal impact
- Engage with project teams to complete knowledge transfer to the support resources
- Review and ensure completion of RICEF documentation
- Review SLA’s for the team and take action to have the team meet the targets
- Coordinate Change Management processes and meetings
- Troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve problems
- Manage Vendor related Tickets
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in IT management, computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems with five years relevant experience.
- 7-10 plus years of IT or equivalent business/industry work experience in a relevant subject area.
