Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using Dentrix software
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Assist with dental lab tasks such as pouring models and trimming appliances
- Perform basic dental lab procedures such as fabricating temporary crowns
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Ensure compliance with medical coding and billing requirements
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant certification from an accredited dental assisting program
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology, particularly in areas such as pediatrics and CAD/CAM technology
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and operating X-ray equipment
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
