JOB PURPOSE:
To serve Friends Church Corona by developing, coordinating, and administering an effective ministry that meets the needs of junior high and high school students, providing leadership and supervision to staff and volunteers involved in this ministry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership:
Leadership:
- Establish goals and objectives by prioritizing related programs, managing the use of facilities, planning a budget, delegating tasks, and evaluating progress.
- Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers for leadership roles in the ministry.
- Ensure classrooms reflect a safe, professional, Christian environment.
- Plan and supervise camps, conferences, retreats, and events.
- Build student-led leader teams over different areas of the ministry.
Weekend Services:
- Support the implementation of logistics, registration, budget, promotion, and communication of Student Ministry Events.
- Create and implement strategies to connect high school students into the weekend gathering experience.
- Has the potential to teach and lead main congregation teaching opportunities as they arise.
Mid-Week Services:
- Implement a mid-week service for both junior high and high school students.
- Develop and evaluate mid-week group goals.
- Implement small group discipleship.
- Train and empower adult volunteers to lead a student ministry small group.
Collaboration:
- Work with staff and volunteer leaders to carry out the ministry of the church.
- Coordinate and participate in public high school campus clubs as requested.
- Coordinate local & global service opportunities inline with the church’s vision
- Develop strategies that foster a generous student culture, encouraging them to contribute their time, talent, and treasure.
Authenticity:
- Stay engaged in a personal growing relationship with Jesus by embodying our ministry values and spiritual practices.
- Share and speak from a place of integrity and develop ongoing accountability and mentoring relationships for personal growth and spiritual health.
Families:
- Develop strategic relationships with parents to communicate, inspire, equip, and support families.
- Develop relationships with high school students by being a Godly role model.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Spiritual: Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and must have a heart for ministry. Must hold to the Statement of Faith, Position Statements, Mission Statement, Core Values and Ministry Values of Friends Southwest denomination. Those that serve God on the staff are expected to set a high standard of personal conduct and lifestyle.
- Experience & Education: A bachelor’s degree in youth ministry and a minimum if 3-5 years’ experience in student ministries, creative teaching, Biblical Studies, or other ministry area programs is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Skills: Outstanding communication both verbal and written, excellent interpersonal skills, resourceful and driven, highly creative and collaborative, detail oriented and organized, excellent time management when working under pressure. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite and Google Suite of products. Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, and mathematical skills. Must be a self-starter. Must be confidential, flexible, accurate, and have good follow-up skills. Strong managerial skills.
- Ability: Ability to understand, teach, and live out Biblical truths. Ability to comprehend written and oral information and to express written and oral information with clarity. Ability to identify problems, and exhibit both inductive and mathematical reasoning. Ability to travel. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as requested.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and be able to occasionally move about within the Church building. Constantly operates a computer using hands and arms to feel and reach. This position frequently communicates with team members, church staff, and church members and needs to be able to comprehend oral and written information. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
