Senior Staff Accountant
What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant within our Corporate Payment division. This position falls under our Revenue Assurance Group and is located in Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will be an instrumental component in the company's Accounting Department. You will report directly to the Accounting Senior Supervisor and regularly collaborate with Divisional & Business Team Leadership, Treasury, and Divisional Controllers.

Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:
Providing support in revenue recognition processes, including period-ending close activities, journal entries, and accruals to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Promptly responding to provide additional support for preliminary month-end financial review and flux explanations at the request of management
Assisting in monitoring and enforcing internal controls, identifying control gaps, and recommending improvements to mitigate risk
Coordinating with other team members within our department to ensure accuracy of the financial account balances
Partnering with and being a liaison with other departments on analyzing financial balances, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives
Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests related to revenue, providing insights and recommendations to management
Mentoring and developing staff with a collaborative approach to establish accountabilities, objectives, priorities, and monitoring/evaluating results
Participating in special projects and performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience; CPA track preferred
5 years of previous experience in accounting roles – public accounting experience a plus
Understanding of journal entries and account reconciliations
Fintech, financial, or technology sector/industry experience a plus
Interest in process improvement and IT system implementation projects
Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, well-developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively communicate to all levels of an organization when necessary
Ability to coordinate and work within a team in a hybrid environment
Demonstrated background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX. Familiarity with ASC 606 a plus
Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines timely and accurate in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hands-on, detail-oriented individual with the ability to see the big picture
Desire to work in a complex, large-scale accounting and finance environment
