The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team

Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Accountant to participate on a collaborative team that supports the Corporate Accounting department in its mission to ensure that Raytheon Technologies’ financial reporting is timely, accurate and reliable.

The Candidate will have the opportunity to:

• Develop a broad set of technical accounting skills through the research and analysis of technical accounting issues, including evaluating and documenting accounting conclusions for complex transactions.
• Play a key role in setting and maintaining finance policies for RTX.
• Monitor proposed new accounting pronouncements including evaluating impact on RTX and assisting in drafting responses to proposals that may significantly impact the company.
• Support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
• Assist with the SEC reporting processes to comply with all applicable rules and standards in the preparation of all SEC Filings (10Ks, 10Qs, 11Ks, etc.) as well as the quarterly earnings release.
• Assist with specific performance-improvement projects and other special projects.
• Interact with professionals at Corporate and across the Company’s business segments
• Interact with external auditors on a variety of topics including technical accounting topics, annual financial audit and quarterly reviews.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Experience with public company accounting / financial reporting matters through either public accounting experience or industry experience.
• Sound analytical, problem identification, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to be innovative and use critical and strategic thinking.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Ability to flexibly work and learn in a fast-paced, changing, team environment.
• Proficiency relative to PC-based software applications including but not limited to: SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, especially WORD and Excel.

Not Required, but Valuable:

• Aerospace and defense industry experience.

• Public accounting experience with Big 4 or other large public accounting firm
• CPA or other professional certification.

Required Education and experience

• This position typically requires a Bachelors’ degree and 5 Years of relevant experience OR a Masters’ degree and 3 years of relevant experience

US Citizenship:

• This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Location:

Hybrid is preferred but Remote candidates will be considered. Remote candidates MUST BE located in the CONUS
